Outdoor Facilities

Ovals

Nativity has access to 3 ovals on Campus. One oval is conveniently located outside the Bartram and St Joseph buildings allowing for fitness and outdoor activities to be easily incorporated into classroom based learning. The ovals provide great outdoor areas for students to have free play at recess and lunch breaks as well as allowing many different sports to be played at the same time. They are also utilised on weekends by our Campus sporting teams. The Campus Fair and Sports Days, both use our ovals that cope well with these popularly attended events.

Covered Outdoor Learning Area (COLA)

Our Covered Outdoor Learning Area is a relatively new addition to our Campus. It allows for an area to be utilized in all-weather as it provides a roof and covered flooring whilst the sides are open to give students the feeling of being outside. One of our COLA areas is the size of a full basketball court and allows for sport to be played undercover without being indoors. This space is often used by classes for their fitness sessions or for Physical Education lessons. Our other COLA is located between the St Joseph and Bartram buildings allowing an added learning space as well as a great area for community gatherings with easy access to the fully equipped kitchen in the St Joseph building.

Playgrounds

At Nativity our students have access to 5 playgrounds that cater for all ages. One playground is located outside the Bartram building and is a great place for students to meet and interact with their peers and is exclusively for the use of our Reception to Year 2 classes. Another Junior Primary exclusive playground is located adjacent to Pilgrim that is also accessible to Nativity students. There is a playground designed for use by of our Year 3 to Year 5 students and another playground for our Year 6 to Year 7 students. To complement our playgrounds we also have new outdoor exercise equipment located adjacent to one of our ovals. This can also be incorporated into fitness, Physical Education lessons or just for students to exercise on in their break times.
